How the estimate works

The calculator uses a separate normal distribution for each state, with model centers of 6.2 in (15.748 cm) for erect length and 3.7 in (9.398 cm) for flaccid length. The standard deviations, 1.66 cm for erect length and 1.57 cm for flaccid length, come from the Veale et al. 2015 systematic review. The calculator estimates the proportion above your measurement, then multiplies that probability by 100,000.

The hypothetical 100,000 is a comparison scale, not a surveyed group. Sampling, measurement differences, and the normal-distribution assumption limit the estimate; uncertainty is greater in the tails.

This is not a precise worldwide population ranking, diagnosis, or health assessment. A measurement or comparison does not establish whether treatment is appropriate. The tool is for adults and general education.
